Good eq to cut through on my amp

You can clearly see she doesn't have anything plugged into the 2nd amp, and it's not even powered on (the power light is off!). I'd be surprised if the 2nd cab in the stack that's actually being used was even plugged in - considering there's no mic, neither might be plugged in and she might just be going DI'd to the board.
I do actually play in a stupid loud band. We just happen to keep stage volume reasonable. I can talk to anyone on the stage in a normal voice and be heard. IEMs + good PA = no need for loud stage volume, at all.
Additionally, I used to play an SVT. At times, an Ampeg V4BH too. I now play a pre/power setup that potentially hits 900W RMS. I never had an issue being heard in any of the three cases. Cabs used were either 4x10 Avatar or a crappy SWR 2x10 at the studio. Our practice volume is extremely high (I wear earplugs, of course).
Why you have to grill me about this, I don't know. But, there's your answer. If your band can't keep reasonable stage volume, then yeah, you're going to have issues. Your issues are going to be more than just being heard, though, too - your band probably sounds like crap out front.

It seems that you have no experience with a loud drummer whatsoever...

TB is a funny place... If it was anywhere else that someone came here and said "can't hear myself, I've got a 100W combo" people would just say "get a 300W amp and a 4x10 cab like everyone else". Here we must go through all this theory. Fair enough...

Apparently you're not familiar with having reasonable stage volume, but putting enough volume into FOH to give everyone hearing damage. Yes, you CAN have different levels of volume depending on where you are - it's REALLY amazing! Sorry, I assumed everyone here has either played a concert like that, or been to any kind of a large show - my bad! The people that come to our shows think we're stupid loud. Us up on stage, not so much.
Again, you're making assumptions. Of course I play with loud drummers. They're all naturally loud! That's a whole 'nother topic though with it's own approaches on how to handle it. Maybe instead of cluttering up this guys thread with your pissing match, you should PM me if you have questions/points you'd like to address.

sorry alex but i think ray understands more of what im trying to ask these with all PA u dnt need huge amps the only reason y i have an amp onstage is to hear myself while im playing on stage to see how i sound. i care more about what the audience hears than wat i hear myself...if i get close to my amp onstage whether its 80 or 100w im still going to hear myself tht obvs depends if i have a muddy sound this thread was mainly a question on eq thts able to cut through not u need a louder amp which many people in the past told me. another thing about the loud drummer thing like ray said its natural tht theyre loud but if theyre smashing it as hard as they cud which i have played with drummers like tht in the past..its not very gd technique and they need to control tht. really i mean no offense alex but dnt tell people u have no exp with loud drummers n stuff like tht bcse if u do have a drummer like i explained b4 then he/she doesnt hav very gd technique.

Have you seen Dennis Chambers playing live? You couldn't play a gig with a 100W combo next to that guy. And please don't tell me Dennis has poor technique...

lol man i just looked at a youtube vid of him and i saw much louder. Even though i never heard of dennis chambers from i saw in the vid he just hits his drums just a little harder to get tht extra punch. This was what i was talking about:

Joey, may I make a request that you use normal English and punctuation. Using Text style writing makes a post difficult to read and ends up as a jumble of text with little meaning. At least for some of we older geezers. :)

OT I know but texting has it's place (not in my life though) but the art of writing developed across generations as a way to get a meaning across without error. Trying to reduce the content of a document just leads to misunderstandings and doubt. It seems to me that we are losing the art of conversation.
