good gospel genre bass

would like some suggestions on a good bass brand and models mostly for gospel genre reliable until i can buy more expensive model $400-700 budget at the moment

Fender P Bass or Squire P is my fav. Fender and Squire Jazz work too. I just like the woody tone of the P in most older Gospel type songs/hymns

I don't know about that, Ibanez basses, especially Prestige models, are great for Urban Gospel!

I play gospel music all the time at my church and before having my warrior, I played an Ibanez SR505... with the bartolini electronics, it was perfect for gospel and this bass is in your price range.

Pretty much any bass will work, more about tone settings and style you play, maybe a compressor. Most of my buddies get away with Ibanez/Yamaha/Peavey whatever often in the $350 range...
