good music to play too

what are some good artists and or bands I should be listening to to learn to play along with? I like punk music... and a lot of the bass isnt loud enough for me to distinguish when its playing :) so it isnt working. also I am a beginnerish... meaning i can play licks and riffs... but dont tell me to play any victor wooten :)

Green Day's got some good riffs, and Rancid as well.
