Good New Music Discovery Thread.

I'll indulge myself in a bit (not too much though) of self promotion here, and break the one or two month rule (not too much though). I live in a small city in Brazil that happens to have a lot of great musicians and bands. I'll post a video from my band, then videos of friends' bands that I admire, and I just hope you like it :)

This is our band, banda-fôrra (pronounced "bahn-da foh-hah), and that hairy chap on the bass is me.

This is Glue Trip, this video has actually been uploaded today. They're good friends and they're actually doing very well in the business, heading for a Europe tour anytime soon. Nice kind of psychedelish pop tunes

This is Vieira and he has a great voice. I love this guy.

These are Agustine Azul. Very skilled stoner band, recently signed to a French label. For the heavier among us

That's it for the day, hope you enjoy it. Even if you don't understand the Portuguese, I think these are nice songs, and definitely worth a listen if you're into new things.

This is a thread for those of us who like to keep up with new music and refuse to believe only the music of our youth was worth listening to. Here we can share music videos or performance clips of new music we feel is noteworthy and worth a listen through from our brethren:

First though, let's establish some guidelines:

* Feel free to share from any genre. Music does not necessarily have to be bass oriented, just so long as YOU like it.

* Music here should NOT be more than a month or two old from release on an album or as a single.

* Music clips here should have good audio. Please no cell phone recordings.

* Feel free to expand on what exactly you like about the tune you are sharing if you have such insight.

* Be respectful to others when posting commentary here. Odds are there will be way more music you don't like than what you do like posted here. Mocking someone else's tastes or just declaring you don't like something is not helpful. Let's keep this positive.

With any luck, this thread will take off and get some folks out of their rut and searching for newer artists to support.

Great idea, @Nev375!

The music of the following pop-funk group, Peet Project from Hungary, brings back memories from the 80's when Pop music was alive. Beautiful and engaging bass-lines.
The band:
Péter Ferencz (Peet) - violin/vocals
Barnabás Pély - vocals
Péter Herold - sax
Ádám Lőrincz - piano
Dávid Szedlár - bass
Gyuszi Vas - drums

Here is an interesting song from their new album with an interesting bass-line.

Peet Project sounds good alive also.

Holy Makirul!
That ALOT talent from a small town!
I listened to all four. I like banda-forra the best.
I’m happy to see you flying my 1978 hair!
The bassist in Augustine Azul picked his spot and played a harmony part beautifully.
I used to do that.
I hear harmony parts in my head all the time. That’s gotten me into harmonic trouble more than once!

Please keep posting from your little town!
All the best!

Haha thanks! Glad you liked it ;) It's a very nice place to live indeed...
The bassist from Augustine Azul started as a guitarist, and still plays guitar in some bands, that's why he's so... adventurous all around the neck. It takes good taste to make it work, and I think it works.

Since we're at it, we just released a new single. Very simple bassline, but it's a song I really enjoy playing, very heartfelt. Hope you like it too!
