Good non mainstream punk bands?

Also forgot to mention Discharge, Subhumans, Minutemen. I could list a few more but most have been said by now.

Hey guys!!! So I did some listening to those bands you mentioned. I more like the hard and heavy stuff with more rythym (i.e.: screeching weasel and Ramones and operation ivy and agent orange) don't really care for the dead kennedys or Minutemen. Can you recommend more bands like the ones I say I like?

Don't... Like...... Dead Kennedys???!!!!

Lol, jk. Jello Biafras voice is definitely a take it or leave it situation. His lyrics are some of the best out there. The way he uses his wit and sarcasm are amazing, and worth listening to just for a lesson in writing lyrics.

'Punk' wasn't just the music. It was a movement. At least that's how it felt in London in the mid-70s.
It was about being yourself. It was about NOT being anyone else.
Unfortunately, as time progressed it became uniformed, and so did the music.
Everybody started to look the same, and sound the same.

I'd suggest listening to the old-school stuff, and then working out what you like from there.
