Good round wounds for Pop?

My goal is to eliminate options. I want to narrow it down to one string. I want to know exactly what brand, what type and what gauge of string to use and just get that. I don't have the time and money to waste testing dozens of different sets.

If you think that will work for you, then knock yourself out. Just don't be surprised to discover you may have to revisit this issue again in future...

I honestly don't see the problem. I find a set of strings that I like and play them forever. Worst case scenario? I miss out on a set of strings that would better suit me.

You have to realize something though. Every time I get a set of strings, I play them until they're dead. I just feel that it's a waste of money to buy a set of strings and just throw them out (unless they really suck I guess).

Also, every time I get a new set of strings, I get my bass set up. I don't like having intonation issues or anything.

So yes, because of how I am about my strings, it would definitely take too much time and money to test so many different sets. I'd rather spend that time and effort learning how to play better.

Reading up some more. It sounds like neither the DR Lo-Riders nor the Dunlop Nickels are right for me. They are both described as being more aggresive. I noticed this with the Lo-Riders when I listened to Ed Friedland's recordings. I actually like a more aggresive tone for some things, but in this case that's not what I'm looking for.

I think I'm pretty much sold on the DR Sunbeams.
