Good Songs for Hammer On's amd Pull Off's?

This is an exercise I always recommend. The point is: No plucking hand allowed.
Hope this helps.

Quick question on this; I'm quite new to playing and BRAND new to hammer ons and pull offs. With this exercise I'm assuming you hammer on any note that's higher in pitch than the previous one and pull off the others? (I guess that's the only way it could be done, right?)

Thanks

(Edit: After reading again, I'm not sure if I'm understanding your question correctly. Please let me know)

Exactly. My choice of notes points to a comfortable fingerboard area, but you should be able to play semitones with your fretting hand alone using hammer-ons and pull-offs anywhere on the neck. Notice that pull-offs are more difficult to play on the D, A and E strings since the adjacent string reduces the available space for the fingers to perform the release movement, so you can't play the open string pull-off (first note of the second measure in my transcription) with the same abandon as on the G string (or C string, if you are using a 6-string bass).

Hope this helps. Let me know if you need further assistance.
