Good Yamaha BB3000 vs BB2000 Comparison

They both sound really nice. The ebony was a great choice. Gives them a more refined sound and more sustain over a Fender. My preference would be the BB3000 or BB5000 in white of course .
Cool basses, but the dude singing & sniffling kinda ruined the audio comparison for me. Had to really hunt and peck around to find clips where it’s JUST the bass that I was hearing.
I've owned both. They are similar sounding (reversing the P pickup between the two is not a night and day difference).
For me the biggest difference was the 2000 felt far chunkier, fat neck, thicker body. The 3000 is slimmer all around.
Both are wonderful, but for me the 2000 in that Robitussin Red over Antique Clear is my sentimental favorite.

As an owner of both, for me the BB2000 is the clear winner in the tone department, especially with pickups blended. More of a jazz-bass vibe, only much better IMO.
