Good years in the 70's for fender?

I owned two in the 70s, when I was gigging most every night--a '73 and a '78. They were not good instruments; back then, anything that wasn't "pre-CBS" was regarded as MIMs are today. They had wraped necks, rust-prone hardware, and terrible finishes. My current two MIMs are way better overall than my 70s. They were light, I'll give them that much.
