Gorguts/Steve Cloutier Bass Tone

I was listening to the album "Obscura" by Gorguts today and, while I know this is a longshot, I was wondering if anybody happened to know the gear that he used or how one might achieve a tone similar to his because it absolutely crushes. I'll post a link to a song for reference.

Bumping this since I do not want to waste making a new post for it. Hope you find the answer to. I've been trying to figure it out, he seems to use his fingers which I am very shock by since it's so growly and the strings are hit so damn hard!
