Got a new bass, now need an amp.

Got a new bass yesterday a Fender Blacktop Jazz. I have played it through 4 different amps. A Peavy max 115, a TC electronics and a Fender Rumble V3 100 and 200. The rumbles sounded best. I briefly had a V3 100 in the past and it sounded good and clear, but seemed lacking in power. The 200 seems louder and better with lows,but maybe a little less clear and the tweeter is nice for balance. I'm also looking at the Ampeg ba115 1x15. On the Rumble how would the 500 2x10 handle lows compared to the 1x15? Would it be louder?This is for home play so I think either is loud enough but sometimes it's fun to rattle everything. I was just digging the smooth, deep lows from the 200 and wondered if 2 tens could do the same.

Speaker size does not determine how highs and lows are articulated.. Those bigger Rumbles are very under rated.. very nice amps. The Peavys are great workhorse amps.. Whatever you get make sure it has a DI on it and has an expansion for an additional cab so that in the future you won't have to change amps.. The GK combos are nice as well. For me light weight is where it's at.

The Rumble 500 combos are run away best sellers and world wide market leaders for wattage; price, and weight. Yes they are louder than a 200 and just as deep. A shipment has just come in so if you want one, romp on it as they sell out fast. Read the many rave reviews and gig-reports at the Fender Rumble Club. :thumbsup:

Honestly, my Rumble V3 500 does lows pretty dang well, although I've just been using my 4-string through it and the lowest I've gone is Drop D so I can't comment on if you tune lower than that, but it does the notes I play marvelously well. (And I hate to admit but the overdrive it it sounds good to me so much that I usually use it, as opposed to some amps with dreadful built in overdrive)
