My story's similar, and I find since I've been playing fretless more lately, that the frets of the other bass seem to be more effort, but I'm trying to keep up on both. That's a nice looking axe! Thanks for the peek. Looks like the "Dr." has found his cure!A year ago, I switched to fretless. I still play frets sometimes but most of what I do I feel like the frets are in the way now. And I played on frets for 31 years. It's not a big deal, and with a superb fretless, the notes are pretty easy to find. Congrats on your fretless adventure and the great new bass.
fan has served me well. All that finger funk has me pretty doggone fast on fretless. You're the man! Now log off and keep playing that thing! Sounds like you're in love!I'm playing along with Jaco's first solo CD, and it is eye opening to jam along with his music on a fretless. Everything makes so much more sense and is just easier to play. It is also quite an ego boost to play along with "Kuru - Speak Like a Child" and acually be in tune with the master! Not just that one octave based riff, but also when he changing chords using a line based on fourths. Also all those years of being a Bernard Edwards (and Jaco too)

This is a mysterious fat guy with my bass.![]()
As long as it doesn't cause you undue financial stress, I say good call. That is one awesome looking fretless, and I'm sure it delivers the goods sonically...
I have had this bass about eleven days now, and I went through a real crisis over whether I should keep it. After playing in church, I kept saying, "i don't really need a fretless." As you all know, I posted it for sale here, but after some thought and after hanging in a local GC, and talking with some other players, I came to the conclusion that I was suffering from serious buyer's remorse, and maybe some guilt over spending the cheddar. I pretty sure others have felt that way too sometimes.![]()
The bottom line is that this bass looks, feels, and plays great, and I am blessed to own it. I will continue to use it too.![]()
I'm REALLY happy you changed your mind about selling it. I was pretty sad when I saw it up for sale. Enjoy the heck out of it, it's beautiful.![]()
