Coincidentally I do have the second biggest reach of anyone I've ever met besides Matt Mcgrory. My piano teacher pointed out I had the same reach as Elton John at 12. They aren't freakishly big or anything, just big and I stretched them from childhood.

I don't have particularly good reach / spread for a bass player (big hand, short fingers, proportionally). But my left hand has at least an inch and a half more than the right, and I'm pretty sure it didn't start that way.
