Well then get your wallet out as the game now includes bass.
If any of you are Rush/Geddy fans they are adding some Rush songs next week.
I agree. I think it would have been better to have score and
tabs (a little bit like what you see in Guitar Pro) but have it
scroll from right to left and use colored bars (or something like
that) to show the note durations in the tab.
Deciphering the notes in Rocksmith is harder than it needs to be.

it can be a lot of fun!!!
make it fun = more hours spent playing
of course it's not the ultimate tool, but I think it's a wonderful for many beginner and intermediate players
Jammit has score and tab. My only issue with it is you have to buy bass and guitar separate but I play both. It's another good option though.
If you read postings at the official site, there are a lot of players out there who have never touched a guitar in their life have mastered some relatively complex songs, and are having a blast doing it, playing for hours at a time.
For those complaining about audio lag, there is a fix. It involves routing audo directly from your PC/PS3/XBOX to a stereo, and using the HDMI just for the video portion. There are directions on how to do this on the official website and forums. I have the audio routed from my PS3 via the AV outputs on the console into a boombox, and I get no lag at all.
I haven't read every post in this thread, but I can offer this: Aside from not learning any notes from Rocksmith, it has done wonders for my endurance. As a "practicing" bass player who has never played bass in a band, I tend to learn snippets of songs and then just file that knowledge away, instead of jamming the whole song. With Rocksmith, I actually have to endure chugging out STP's 'Vasoline' for five minutes, whereas I would never just jam to this song for no reason.

I've looked into it and think that it's a pretty darn cool idea. As far as improving skill ... I would say it can help with the physical aspects of playing (dexterity, timing, endurance, speed, ect) but not the mental aspects (theory) of playing.

Just for your information, RS is releasing a Rush pack next week, I think. Don't remember what songs. Also, hints of upcoming Paliament DLC.
Rush pack has already been released. If you buy it for XBox you'll have to buy the bass DLC, if you buy the PC version it comes with the bass content included. You could also buy the XBox version in order to get the cable, then *cough ahem* buy the PC version to play all the bass and DLC content. PM if you details.

Okay... who uses their partitioned iMac to play this on Windows? Not a gamer, don't have a PC, REALLY want to have this but don't want to bother if there are going to be a lot of issues...
This seems like it could be fun. Does anyone know if you have to use their special cable they make? Or could I download it and just plug my bass into a fast-track or similar USB recording interface that I already have? Will it recognize the signal? I have limited USB ports (already expanded and all taken up and I hate having to redo everything all the time). I realize this question has probably been asked on their forums, but, I'm lazy and I'm here already
