GOT THE TONE WOOD!!!

    got enough wood to make something bigger than a cello but not enough for a 3/4
    can any help with ideas or plans?

  2. awesome! build something like a 1/2 size bass, or however big you can make it, sting it up tuned in fifths and have a really cool chamber/ solo instrument. :bassist:

    Got a gig later, probably dinner after..oh, you meant BASS plans...

    There are several plans available at the site that sells the book entitled, "So..you want to make a double bass". Love that title. You can link to it through Bob Gollihur's site; I'd post it , but I'm outta here.

    Yeah it's plans i'm after
    got a good set of "Type C" stradi cello plans
    {if anyone wants a copy]
    do i scale them up
    or hunt down some 1/2 bass plans
    open to ideas

  6. A scaled up cello shape would be cool, but I think a scaled down version of some interesting, recognisable bass would be really different. Like say a Montagnana, or a Klotz... something unique. Keep us posted though, this sounds like a really cool project!
