JJ's autobio, called "A Cure For Gravity" is a very entertaining read in general. JJ is highly complimentary of Maby's playing throughout the book, and as someone mentioned, he credits Maby for improving the overall sound of his music to the point where he was finally able to gain some recognition.
My favorite JJ recording is "Big World". It's a bit of a zag where others zig, but to me the songwriting was simply brilliant on that one. I also like a few of the tunes on "Night and Day" (which I think is JJ's favorite), including "Stepping Out" which really takes me back to Austin in the early '80s when we moved there. Seems like that song was constantly on the radio. I was a pre-teen, but it seems like yesterday.
