Grateful Dead reunion

I was reading that Billboard suggested they paid 50 G's to manufacture it. But that was dispelled as hogwash & balderdash

No way. Unless they paid to seed the cloud that rained on us for 10 minutes between sets. Besides, funny things like this happen at Dead shows, in my experience. And really if they could seed the clouds for rain, then California wouldn't be as dry as it is right now. ;)

Here's a fun one. For Sunday, my friend who invited me out for the shows had upper level seats. When prices dropped, I ended up buying a pair of GA tickets cheap as an 'upgrade'. He 'sold' his upper levels to some friends (aka gave them the tickets, was going to collect cash later). They texted us this picture from those seats. When we saw how far away they were, he promptly told them he was giving them the tickets.

The yellow arrow is where we were standing.

I'm really looking forward to this weekend's shows (webcast, not live attendance). I was traveling last weekend and choose not to investigate/watch how those shows went down to hopefully retain the element of surprise.

I absolutely love Trey as a musician and couldn't have been happier about his role in this- as a heavily invested Phish fan (sorry, can't get down with the corny "phan" terminology) I have no doubt that Trey will show up for Jerry duty and deliver the Jerry ethos, not a Jerry imitation.

My twin brother and I jokingly refer to Trey as "My Jerry", as we're members of a generation too young to have experienced the real deal.

To anyone attending the shows in person, enjoy the shows and go on ahead and eat the chocolate that the dreadlocked hippie chick hands you ;)

Yeah, I'd call that an upgrade. Nice story, too.

I bought the 2 new GA tickets for 300$ delivered. They were 200+fees for someone to buy, so a pretty solid discount of around $100 per ticket. I told my friend that I was 'treating' him to it since he had invited me out and to stay at his house. I told him that he should try to sell to get his cash back, but even if he didn't sell, it wouldn't be a problem given the 60$ tickets he had purchased and the cost of the floor seats. I told him if he couldn't find someone he knew who wanted them we could give away in the lots. I've been given tickets at shows before and it would have been nice to return the favor.

He had never been to a 'show' before. Upon it finishing he said "OK...I get it now. Before this I didn't really get it but now it all makes sense to me."

Or another view...that shows where I was in relation to the stage. This showed up on the tall guy's twitter account, and Elton was two people down the rail from me, but we were closer to center, right in front of Bruce's piano.

I hope you didn't get stuck standing directly behind these guys -- you woulda never seen a thing!

Night one, I was next to Elton. Here's one of my shots of him.

I didn't hassle Bill Walton, because everyone and their mom was trying to get a picture with him. Walton ended up in front of me (in the GA Pit area) about 6 people in front of me and slightly to my left. It was fun to see him because he was head and shoulders above the crowd and was really having a good time.

On Sunday night, He was about 10 or more people in front of me in the pit, but there were more people than on Saturday night.

Elton John kills me. Only he could get away with dressing like that. LOL.
Sorry, but I gotta disagree with you there. I think ANYBODY could get away with dressing like that.... at a Grateful Dead concert.

I'm just diggin' the fact that Elton John was there for the show -- and, to boot, out in the audience rather than backstage. I mean, really, how cool is that?

Tell that to the woman in the chicken costume in the pit area.
