Great Punk Albums

I was a big Clash fan starting when "London Calling" was released. Then I gave their first two albums the due serious listening and have always thought that they are more punk than London Calling.
You are right Paul, London Calling is not even close to being a `punk` album, its too radio pop friendly, the clash made some crap albums IMO, Combat rock-tedious, Sandinista-not great but The Clash and Give em enough rope were pretty good rock n roll albums, nicely raw and aggressive sound, but not as good as Stiff Little Fingers, they were a good punk band in their own way, their first album `inflammable material` was good, self financed and totally their own product, Jake Burns is a very passionate musician and still does the job.
I have got a huge collection of `punk` vynyl, some very rare stuff, how about The Dickies, their version of Paranoid is awesome and the banana splits song is just pure joy, Black Flag, Millions of dead cops to name a few US bands, Dead Kennedys were the best of them with their great lyrics and catchy tunes, holiday in cambodia and california uber alles are brilliant songs .
The Ruts were the first band I saw live and they were very good .
So there you go, punk or `punk` has always been my main musical influence and it has contributed some fantastic and exciting music, a lot of it has actually been brilliant music, creatively as good as much more revered bands, whether you like the real punk or the more corporate rock n roll `punk` does not matter because many have had the pleasure of listening to it, any form of art is good !

I love seeing the mix of stuff from old school (crass) to midschool (die kreuzen) to newschool stuff (bronx). But it kinda hurts to see people put Blink on the list. Its kinda like you wanna send that person a mixtape! They were catchy, Ill give them that.
minutemen "double Nickles on the Dime" is the best punk record ever, but anything by husker du, bad brains, iggy, dead kennedys, buzzcocks, black flag, circle jerks, cromags, agnostic front, murphy's law, ramones, dead milkmen, rancid, social D., the list goes on and on.
No one's mentioned matt freeman from rancid???

Has there been any mention of Flipper? I really like the sloppy, sludgy playing and sounds of Bruce Loose and Will Shatter (RIP.) "Generic" Flipper is a mainstay for me, but their "Public Flipper Limited: Live 1981-1985" is nearly a desert-island disc for me.
I also really love No Trend.
And I don't know if Killdozer has been mentioned (I may have brought them up earlier in the thread) but they are one of my favorite bands ever. Great sense of humor, but with wit and wry social observation. Lead singer Michael Gerald was also the bass player and their work is very bass-centered with absolutely pummeling (but very often catchy as hell) bass lines leading the way, locked in with caveman drums and a smattering of noisy, shrieky guitar on top. LOVE them. Just one of the best ever.

many classics mentioned so I'll throw in one of my personal faves: The Accused's "More Fun Than An Open Casket Funeral". Not really "the greatest ever" but still an absolute gem. Well worth picking up if you find it anywhere.

One of my favorite punk albums is a little album, or perhaps it was an EP by D.O.A. in compilation with Jello Biafra. It's called 'The Last Scream Of The Missing Neighbor'. The last song is called Full Metal Jack Off. That song is still relevant today.
Have any of you guys heard Jello Biafra with The Melvins, I got a CD called `never breathe what you cant see` the other day and it is really powerful, a cross between Ded Kennedys, Metallica, System of a Down etc, very heavy and Jello`s voice suits it perfectly-great album, punk lovers will like it 
Great album, my fave song is `something that I said` followed by `Jah war` .
The Adicts were a fun band, `viva la revolution` is a lively track

The "Hardcore" collections are amazing. Those guys were so far ahead of their time.
