Great Stingray Tone!

There's a lady who loves her Stingray 5.

My choir sings a very different version of this song. This version is more to my taste, so it'll be hard not to hear this in my head when we perform next (2 weeks IIRC).

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check out some more of her videos later.

I've always been especially impressed by the Stingray's ability to handle the low notes. Fills up high thin out. Low, low stuff (esp low B string) have this great rumbly growly midrange.
I don't have a 'Ray, but I have a Kiloton V, and man, that single bridgeward pickup just makes for such clear low notes on the B. With the Kilo and with Ray V's those low notes have such midrange clarity you could almost be fooled into thinking they're being played in a higher register.

Always loved Rebecca. And she's seemingly (hopefully) not taking for granted what that fabulous keyboard player can do.

Is there bad stingray tone?

NICE! I can never get a Stingray to sound like that.... mine always sounds too pokey

In my experience, there are some players who can make a Stingray sound like it should.

I'm not one of those players. I had a nice 20 year old Stingray and sold it because I could never get what I thought was a proper Ray sound out of it.

No sense in my keeping a captive beast just so it could sound ordinary in my hands.
