GREAT UNDER-KNOWN ROCK ALBUMS

Arc Angels (self titled) Doyle Bramhall, Charlie Sexton, Tommy Shannon, and Chris Layton. The band started as a result of a performance not long after the death of SRV. REALLY good songs! Best of blues, funk and straight forward rock. If you can listen to "Good Time" and not move some part of your body, then you don't love puppies and you have no soul. Drugs, ego, record company crap, and anything else you can imagine got in the way of a second album. What a waste.

Fantastic Planet by Failure. Put on some headphones and lose yourself. Phenominal album with killer bass tones and sweet guitaring.

I was going to mention this one, but I wasn't sure if it was under-appreciated. Regardless of how appreciated it is, it should be appreciated even more. Probably my favorite "super group."

Lucifer's Friend was one of my favotrites as a teen. I have to add NEU!, Henry Cow, Matching Mole & Ivory Wire

This album is an absolute classic, and I would recommend it to any fan of rock music. I won't say much else than that, because if you HAVEN'T heard it, I think going in cold would be the best way to experience Captain Beyond for the first time.

I got my copy today. Man, were you right!

Thin Lizard Dawn's debut album still remains one of my favorite 90's rock albums. They got very limited airplay (i.e. their song was played maybe 2-3 times on a local radio station) in my area. I guess it was a case of love at first "sight".


There's a Link Removed on myspace. "Sexual Dynamo" and "Weed" are from this album.
Their singer has a few of the songs up on his myspace. Link Removed Don't let the 2 minute intro on "Power" dissuade you from listening further. Also noticed that the chorus from "Scared" on his page is the same chorus from the song "Pop Life" from the TLD album, albeit arranged differently.
