Greatest lost Bands that deserved better

Am I too old to be mentioning young people like ALIEN ANT FARM? I know they're back now but still not anywhere near where they were in the early 00's, before their infamous bus accident (here in Spain BTW). Love the band. Love Tye Zamora (who's not part of the current "Always&Forever" lineup -altho' he recorded bass on the album-) and even been thinking of taking some bass lessons with him via Skype.



Now for a terribly sad and recent news I haven't already read here. Tye Zamora has been diagnosed with testicular cancer.

Yes very sad. That bassist is amazing and spot on. I hate to say it, but in my opinion that bus accident and the time it took the recover killed their career at that time. I really wish that didn't happen, but at least they're alive, and that's most important.

They definitely lost momentum after that accident, also their label could have treated them better in terms of keeping interest until the band could work again, as I'm sure such a band meant big business at its peak period. Still, in my book, the #1 thing I respect in AAF is that they kept upping their musical game, Up in the attic is a magnificent album, so is Always & forever, consistent quality. I measure albums by how often I push the forward button, something I hardly ever did with AAF.

The very first band I thought of was Good Rats...great band...Great show...rabid following! I wish everyone knew them.
A Pittsburg band named Gathering Field. WHY NOT THOSE GUYS???
I have 3 Marshall Crenshaw records that are always near the front of the stacks!
She's a KC institution who keeps it local...stays near to home to tend to family obligations...and stays as busy as she wants to be... Ida McBeth. The lady lays 'em OUT every time she takes the stage!
I wish more people appreciated the late Steve Goodman. I miss that guy at least once every week.
Finally, for this session, there's
NRBQ. My very favorite (local) band growing up in the Mid Hudson Valley during the '70s and well beyond. Last I heard, they were still Kickin' it out!

what i remember about Oingo Boingo was their film with Danny Elfman in 1980 "The Forbidden Zone" .....Weird soft porn with Herve Villechaize ( THE PLANE!!!!) It is notable for being Elfmans film debut. Warning: Once you seee this film you cannot unwatch it!!!!!!

Man, I grew up listening to Oingo Boingo!! My friends brother introduced us to their music and pretty much everyone within our skateboarding and surfing crowd were jammin out to them. I think they had a pretty good following from the surfer/skater community, at least in Va. Beach, Va. they did ;)
