Cream, Bill Evans Trio, Nat King Cole Trio, Jimi Hendrix/Mitch Mitchell/Billy Cox, and Oscar Peterson/Joe Pass/Neils Henning-Orsetd Pedersen. In no particular order.

The key component is that on a good night they were all pushing and challenging each other while LISTENING to each other.
