You are correct sir, except my amp is a Matamp not Electric Amp.

Im bringing this thread back to life. Sort of, maybe. Anyway, Im grabbing a white Electric power unit next week. Found one at Chicago Music Exchange. Im pretty stoked, first tube head. Never heard an amp like this before. Just blew me away. Can anyone else point in to a thread or site that has fans/followers/users or anywhere where theres more info and experiences with this amp please? Thanks for the hepl all!

Here is the info from that ebay sale. The guy was asking $2500 for the amp.
The guy has or had 2 of these, and toured with them, so I think this is pretty good info from an actual user.

Up for sale is one of my two EA Power Units commissioned in 2008 and delivered in the spring of 2010. This is not just a power amp: 3x12AX7/4xKT-88 head puts out over 200W of the purest point-to-point hand-wired all-tube tone for instrument or slave amplification.
The Knobs:

~ 2 separate inputs: HIGH for instrument-level, LOW for Line-level signals.
~Bass is a 4-stage selector high-pass filter that goes from tinny old-time radio to a massive wall of bass.
~Boost adds brightness and presence.
~Volume goes from Loud to Really Loud to Really Really Loud with sweet tube overdrive. No Master Volume - You love it!

Out of curiosity, is there any reason other than purism not to have a master volume?

That aside, I wish there was a snowball's chance in hell I could afford this.

The main reason in getting a power unit is because it's the only one they have in the store and I have the opportunity to grab. So I'm grabbing it. I could ord direct from the company but I've heard between wait times and drama it's a hell of a time. I could go with Matamp, verellen or orange, but again I'd have to wait for the first two aka I've heard that the orange model I'm interested in would be blown away by the Electric. Plus I use a lot of effects. That's a large feature for me with the power unit. It's a plain, simple and raw amp. No frills.

There is another thread. Electric amps is a brand that sells amps made by Class A Electronics. I think a dude from Class A, John Mcneece has gone solo, making his own stuff, but isn't very net savvy, but if you are interested, PM an I'll send you his email address. Electric started off importing Matamp amps from the UK, but they never made bass amps during this period.

Funnily enough back in the early Seventies I built amps to order in the UK. Small quantity, more of a hobby than anything else. Local sales only. I used Partridge iron and built on white enamelled steel chassises which I had made locally. I called them White amps. I had never heard of the name being used elsewhere! There’s about fifteen of them in the South Wales area.
