Green Russian Big Muff Pi too loud

So I'm having an issue setting the volume on my pedal board evenly because the Green Russian Pi is vastly louder than everything else. I have to put it's volume at the minimum to be the same loudness as my clean tone. Is this something the pedal just does? Boost the volume so much? I'd like to have some tweakability with the volume but it's just too loud at anything but the lowest volume settings.

I've probably never had my Green Russian above like 10:00 on the volume. It's very loud and powerful. Especially with the Tone down, it gets even louder. You do sort of need that volume though. You'd be surprised how it can sound way louder than your clean tone when you're playing by yourself, but then in a band you find that you have to turn it up so it matches your clean tone.

It's worth being mindful that, in general, heavy fuzz or distortion should sound too loud on its own. The signal is very compressed, so in order for it to compete for the apparent volume of your clean signal, it needs to sound a bit louder than your clean signal.

My other fuzz, a Wren & Cuff fuzz, has a sane volume control and doesn't have the issue. I feel like it's just this pedal that has the issue. Maybe I should get a different fuzz that still has the Russian tone?

Not so much a use case for most bassists but all that volume comes in handy if you want to slam the hell out of the frontend of a tube amp

It's a feature, not a bug.

I'm being a dick, honestly it does sound a little bit dumb that volume has to be THAT far low.

But it's made me super curious how the pedal sounds. If it's got THAT much output, how heavily does it saturate?
