Green Russian Muff clones?

I have a green that's my fav bass pedal of all time.
Going on tour soon and was hoping to leave it behind this time around and take something a little less dear to my heart but does the same thing.

The new EHX BBM is NOT cutting it.
I also tried the Swollen Pickle, which I liked quite a bit more than the BBM, but before I commit to buying one...

what other GOOD green clones are out there?

I just sent my payment for a Fuzzrocious Grey Stache +. Definitely check them out! Ryan is a TB'r too! Once I receive it, I can give a description but most people here think they rock!

The only issue I see is that you want to "take something a little less dear to my heart but does the same thing." This is a handmade pedal that isn't as readily available at GC or MF. I haven't even received it yet but it is near and dear to my heart.

Basically I just meant that if I lose it I wont be losing my green (which I once did on tour in Ireland and somehow managed to track it back down). It's not that it's a russian green, it's that it's this SPECIFIC russian green. I've had 4 of them, and there's just something special about this one.

To be honest, the closest I've heard to a Green Muff is a three knob Hoof. The Fuzzrocious is a fantastic box, but definitely different than the Green. FWIW, the fuzzrocious is way more versatile!

First off the Muff are just a rock solid pedal. I wouldn't hesitate taking it if I were you.

Second, my understanding is the Grey Stache is more of a Civil War Clone. Peronally, I prefer the Civil War Muff- I have owned over a dozen green muffs and my civil war is better, but it all depend on the rest of your rig. I use it with EMG's, so it can tame those crystal highs those produce.

Also consider the Stomp Under Foot. To my ears they come very close while staying as authentic to the original without the neato alterations such as a clean blend.

Lastly, consider a Bluebeard- a more ranchy version.

But in the end, I took my Civil War Sovtek and just a a true bypass and 9 volt battery installed. I just love it too much not to use it. When I went through and sold all of my pedals, it was the one I could not sell, besides my PWB.

GS takes the bass response of a civil war and the gain/heaviness of the GGG-tuned. Close!

Yeah, I wish it was around when I was A/B'ing everything under the sun to my Civil War. I loved the Earthbound Audio and even had it modded by the maker, but it still wasn't the match of my Civil War. It was painful to sell that one.

Since the mods are already done it is a bit late to reverse course, but someday if I start rebuilding by stomp board I may grab a Stache just for giggles to comp them.

So I eneded up taking the BBM, annnnnnnd....


had nothing but troubles w it THE WHOLE TIME.
Bad switch, poorly placed bass boost toggle, and the sound just wasnt right.
Regardless of how I set it, I just couldnt get it dialed in.

Never again shall I tour without my beloved green "BLOOD" (named as such because the previous owner painted it)



in conclusion -
BBM = hell no

That sounded worse than I meant it.
I DO QUITE ENJOY playing w all the new pedals that come out.

Just meant I never want to feel like I NEED more stuff than I actually do. And a decent clone of BLOOD actually kinda falls into the NEED category for me.

But whatevs. Just wanted to clarify there was no offense intended in that last post :)
