Greetings From Middle Georgia USA

Hello All - I'm Lanny from a small country town Southeast of Macon Georgia. Been lurking these forums here at TB for awhile now and figured it was time to surface (I'm an old submarine sailor from the early 70's) and introduce myself. I've played music most of my life - mainly guitar, and have played in a couple small bands and also in church worship groups. Once I retired back in 2012, I tried to re-familiarize myself with guitar again, but old age and arthritis got the best of me over the years so I decided to move onto bass... The best move I could have ever made!

I now play in a local band mostly made up of other retirees and am having a blast. I tried belonging to other forums, but this one has specific information related to playing in bands which is very informative and more up my alley... Other forums were more focused on recording covers and posting them - something that does help, but it's not the same as actually playing with real live band mates...

I do have several bass's that are set up differently (tuning, strings) that I use for what ever music we're playing at the time. Our band plays mostly classic rock (and Southern Rock) from the early 60's through the 90's. For us, it's all about fun... Any cash that is made goes back into the band (we just purchased a trailer for hauling our gear).. Actually, I couldn't imagine having more fun than playing and making music during my retirement... Enjoy Life!!

Keep On Thumpin'!
Lanny
