Hello all, I am new to bass as well as this forum. I played various types of drums from the time I was 8. Started playing guitar at the age of 16. Now recently picked up a bass at 32 lol. Excelled with percussion but was always just a mediocre guitar player. I seem to be picking up on the bass fairly quick. The funk genre has taken my interest and have been learning various songs that involve finger picking and slapping. It's always intimidating learning something all over again. Recently purchased a sx ursa 4. I am very pleased with it. It required very minimal set up out the box. I play it through an acoustic b15. Seemed like a pretty good deal since it was on sale (originally was set on getting an ampeg but they were sold out) it's bot the loudest little amp but good for home practice or using as a monitor I would suppose. Still playing with tone control and eq settings to achieve what appeals to me. I have been playing the p/j set at about 75% on the p pickup and 100% on the j and master tone set about 50%. Seems to deliver a nice warm low tone yet keeping the mids bright. I know will will have plenty of questions in the future and look forward to communicating with you all as I explore the world of the bass.
