Greetings from South coast, UK

Hello there,
I've been tapping into this forum for loads of useful info, and thought the least I could do was join up and show my face

I'm an enthusiastic amateur...been playing Bass since I was about 15 years old (I turned 50 last year)
I've realised i'm never gonna be a great technical player.....for me, it's all about the feel, groove, riff, and if I can lock in with the drummer I'm happy
I've played in quite a few bands, mainly indie style although I've never been keen on playing in covers bands (only cos I get bored playing the same thing), I've also played in a few reggae bands, as I wanted to see if I could pull playing proper roots style as a white bwoy....we did OK I think and held our heads high

I'm currently playing in a 60's garage/proto punk 3 piece, and despite having no vocal skills I'm the frontman/lead singer
I hate getting old, I'm an old scooterboy and still ride a lambretta (it's the same age as me), but at least people tell me i'm having a mid life crisis by being in a band......I've always been in bands! so they can f**k off!
I used to play whatever junk I could get my hands on cheaply, but these days I'm more of a connoisseur...I've got a Japanese Fender Jazz, and a Burns Bison, plugged into a lovely all valve Ampeg SVT

Anyway, I'm pleased to introduce myself to y'all
Rob

Welcome!
Sounds like you've got a good life going on!

I never had one but I've always loved Lambrettas...ridden with a mate of mine a few times...His is currently in a restoration shop in Waterford - they specialise in doing up the old mod machines.
