Actually, this isn't my first post here. I've already posted something on the Luthiers section, and I may have actually joined this list years ago under another name. I dunno.
I'm a rank newbie at bass playing, but I'm interested in building one. (I've made many, many other instruments, mostly guitars and mandolins.) What I don't know much about is the electronics involved ... I've installed piezo pickups in some of my builds, but the stuff that's used in bass guitars is all new to me, and I can use all the help I can get. Local help would be especially welcome.
