Anyone know anything about these? I've got a clean one/orange that plays great unplugged. Finish is all clean. I think its an '04. Offer is right around $1G. Comments? Thanks. S

Since Fender has taken over the guitar/bass lines of Gretsch in 2003, quality has improved tremendously. If nothing else, you've got a well built bass.
You can tell it's date by the first 2 numbers of the serial number. If you peek in through the F-hole there should be a label, starting with 2 letters then some numbers. The first letter indicates country of manufacture, and will be a J (Japan) or K (Korea). Their pro-line models are made in Japan, and the others in Korea. Great work comes out of both, however. The next letter is the factory. In Japan, I only remember T for Terada. Korea has Samick and Peerless...and maybe another.

Great. Thnaks for the info. I was listed as '04 so I guess that would be a Fender-made version. I didn't get to spend too much time with it, but the little bit I did was great.
