Gretsch committee bass?

Anyone ever played one of these?. Its for sale locally. This thing is oozing cool.

No, but did have a short scale TK300 with the same blade pickup. And the pickup is the only thing I have left, using it in a 20 year old Warmoth build.

I have 2 Committees -my first long scale (2nd bass) bought in 1978 modded it - sanded off the finish - and put in a Carvin pick up -the second is a recently acquired 1979 in 100% original condition. Both have bad ass bridges but they were also made with the more standard fender type bridge - those ones have a bridge cover. The pick guards are clear or smokey. Both of mine are smokey - the modded one has no pick guard as I had a custom chrome bezel made. Interestingly they are different construction the1978 is 5 piece the 1979 is 7 piece. The 1978 has a sleeker neck than the 1979. I prefer the earlier era of Gretsch for that very reason and while my only post 80's Gretsch is a longscale 2002 Jet - the earlier ones have character that my Jet just doesn't have and the quality IMO is better. (Also own the 78 TK300, 75 Broadkaster and 67 Gentleman) Love both of the Committees - it was my first bass so it just feels right. It was Gretsches attempt to get into the neck through body models popular in the late 1970's. They weigh about 9 1/2 pounds.
