i was looking at this. . . .but not sure which mod to get. too many choices.....making my head spin.

any suggestions/experiences???

What's your setup/rig? What kind of music do you play? Are you a noise guy? Finger or pick?

j-bass & p-bass into acoustic b600/b810.... more J though
kinda jam band psychedelic garage thing ....i like noise. but not looking for a metal sounding set up. just looking for like a BRMC, flaming lips, 70's kinda fuzz.
usually pick more than finger.

Personally, if I was playing your rig/in your band, I'd go for diode mod and tone bypass. Good base for tone options and clipping (soft/open/hard).

Tone bypass and diodes are my favorite mod combo for the Stache (and I have three of them). I mainly use LED or no diodes on the diode toggle, but you might want to try the germanium diode option if you want to mess around with more vintage-y fuzz tones (or just to have a very different tonal option).
