In my weaker moments I almost wish someone would say this to me. If Dexter taught us nothing else it's to only take out frustrations on those who've earned it.

Heard it on the golf course last weekend, a cruder version of it, anyway.
Not to derail, but I am one paranoid mofo about this virus and I felt completely safe playing a round with some buddies. Separate carts, pre-sanitized (I re-sanitized it before I loaded up. paranoid, you know). We charged everything without having to go into the clubhouse, no pins, cup at ground level so you don't have to reach in. The way we spray shots we could handle 60 feet of distancing. We were all respectful on the tees and greens. Same decontamination procedures as after work. It was one of the best diversions of the last 2 months. For those who partake, if the courses near you are playing it safe, it's a great way to break up the monotony.
I bring a mask with me. If I'm told to put it on, I put it on. Otherwise, I don't. I really haven't changed much, since I'm not that paranoid about the media-hyped coronavirus. I fall into the category of those that believe the ones that are most susceptible- elderly, immune-compromised, etc. -should take precautions. Everyone should practice safety measures- social distancing, washing hands, and such - but carry on.
Northern Nevada here, fairly normal. Toilet paper still runs out, but it's usually back in a day or two. Dishwasher soap is difficult to find - baffling to me. Meat comes and goes based on meat packers, I guess. There's always something there, just not necessarily what you might have wanted that night. Yeast is still no-existent, dried beans about the same. Everything else that was in short supply a few weeks back seems to have been well supplied again.
Here's the question I have re: procedure at the check-out...
The line has large floor decals spaced ~6' apart for distancing. As the line moves forward, do I have to hop (...with a full cart, mind you!) to the next decal like a bullfrog jumping from lillipad-to-lillipad or can I just sort of hopscotch to the register?
The cashier didn't know either but she's getting kinda sick of me anyway.

I was in my usual grocery store yesterday and eggs gave gibe from just over a buck a dozen to pushing north of $2.50. They had a note hanging in the coolers saying due to increased demand and reduced supply, suppliers are having to charge more. Other than that everything i buy is slowly creeping up a few cents at a time. They were pretty well picked over but That’s not unusual, what is unusual is there’s no predicting when they will be wiped out, you just gave to go and hope they are not wiped out when you get there.

Stores in my area haven't had any disinfecting wipes, cleaners, paper towels or hand sanitizer in over a month. They occasionally have toilet paper. I was at a local grocery store over the weekend. They are usually stocked better than other stores in the area. They had absolutely no pork at all, 2 small chickens, a couple of steaks and about 10 packages of ground beef. They have signs posted for many items with limits of one per customer. They seem to be enforcing the restrictions. One of the workers in the meat department said they don't expect things to get better any time soon and there's talk that they could be completely out of meat in the upcoming weeks. All of the stores have one-way aisles but there are many people who are ignoring the signs and going up and down any aisle.

Mostly normal stock in the Bay Area CA - about 95% minus a few of the things that have been in short supply. No more panic buying for the most part. I didn't really pay attention to what things cost before, so I have immunity to what they might cost now. Ignorance accounts for a large portion of my bliss.

I pretty much go up and down the aisles as I please. You’re going to get within 6 feet of people whether you like it or not. I only had one idiot freak out on me, like he felt that the aisle belonged to him if he was in it. He had no gloves or face covering
,while I was geared up.
Suburbs here. No shortage of nothing. Also, no specials/discounts on nothing. I go every week on thursday morning, around the same time because there is a lot less people. I use common sense and respect the distance between people and i wash my hands when going in and at home after my shopping. I'm not wearing a mask. I've been confined at home since mid march, all I do is work around the house, or inside the house - that means I have no interactions with people. Yes, staff is limited and it takes a lot more time at the grocery store. I won't complain: these cashiers are a lot more at risk than me. Using common sense is very easy to do. If masks become mandatory I will do it, otherwise I don't see the need for it. But, is someone is worried/or has symptoms, then that someone should wear it. Use common sense and it will all be fine. This is not the first and the last virus to hit humans.
Where I am you’d be more likely to be ridiculed for NOT wearing any sort of ppe. It did feel a little strange at first wearing a mask out in public. That was one area where we were far behind Asia. They’ve been wearing masks out in public for decades.
I have a digital thermometer but it takes an oddball battery @ cr or br1225 which I cannot find in any stores and the battery in mine tells me it’s low

While not NY numbers Michigan is well up there in cases and deaths per capita among states. And Oakland county looks to be right in the middle of COVID central for your state.
I think the lady was right to be concerned. In your area I would want my fellow shoppers to be waring masks.

In Los Angeles I've had the best luck with mom & pop corner groceries. They order in smaller quantities and are less subject to supply chain issues as a result. No crowds or waiting. Plus people can't really horde or get too stupid like you see at Costco.
