groovy bass in electronica?

a good friend and electronic music artist has asked me to record some 'groovy 70's bass' on a number of his tunes.

i'm not terribly familiar with this genre, but 'air' comes to immediate mind. care to share any other examples of stuff i could listen to to get familiar?
