Exactly my reasoning, but I'm not absolutely sure the GFCI would trip in the case of hot mic or otherwise. Actually I can't think of a reason it would.

OP: Think about this - when everything is properly connected and grounded (like it should be), there aren't any problems - no noise, no hot mics, no ungrounded amps, etc - you can even play barefoot. Point being - just properly connect and ground everything like it should be (for-crying-out-loud), instead of trying to provide a solution when there isn't a problem.
Now if you're working at a venue where electrical outlets aren't up to code and or with messed up drug addicts running hot mic's, lifting safety grounds and etc - you need to refuse to play/work, and you really should report the venue to authorities (this is your best and safest solution).
