Grounding/Noise issue

Update:

My input jack has been seperated from my pick-up. The wiring was really loose on the connectors to the jack and one simple jiggle pulled it off. I am wondering how I will be able to do this, DIY style. I can't afford to take it to get repaired and have experience soldering, if thats what is needed to be done. Additionally, the wiring from the pots is really short and I am not sure how to get more wiring attached, to expose more.

Thanks! If you need pics I can grab them - no problem

Same problem here man! I was going to post a question but you nailed my problem.. I also notice that if I rub my hand across the strings i get a strachy noise.. not from the strings.. it's definately related to the hum/noise i'm getting when i dont touch the strings/bridge/anything metal on the bass.. It's horrible.

I'm on a MIM 5-string jazz w/noiseless pickups.. the neck pick-up is fairly silent but the buzz ALL comes from the bridge pickup. it's horrible!! Please someone help us. lol

...If its a grounding issue, than I don't understand why it happened all of a sudden, after years of having this bass. Is that what it is?...

I've experienced this myself playing a gig outdoors. There could be a grounding issue with the amp or wall receptacle circuit ground. I might try different rooms, buildings, or amps before pointing finger at guitar. Good luck.
