Grounding problem or else?

After buying my new Clover Apeiron I mostly played through Mesa Walkabout and liked the sound and there was no noise at all, but as I started to play with different amps every time I notice noise:eek:, sounds like a bad grounding, but I can’t figure out if it comes from my bass or not. Today I played again through Mesa and again bass was almost quiet, small amount of noise was coming from the amp when treble knob on onboard preamp was more than 50% and also some noise while turning treble knob. Any suggestions?

If the noise goes away when you go passive then the active circuits in your bass is picking up or causing the noise.

It may be due to a weak battery in your bass.

It may be noise from power lines. Are there fluorescent lights or lights with power bricks nearby? Is the noise a humming or hissing sound?

It may be coming from something in your room. Does the noise change when you move or point your bass in different directions?

I thought so, but after changing battery noise is still there.

It is more hissing to me.

Yes! Whenever I move noise is increasing or decreasing.

I would guess the hissing is coming from your electronics. Make sure you use the appropriate input (active input or passive input) on your bass amp.

Try adjusting your bass guitar output up (higher level) and your amp input down (lower level). This would maximize your signal-to-noise of your bass system.

Actually I have only one input on my markbass. so this shouldn't be a problem, maybe I will try to email clover and see what they can suggest.
