Grounding

I've been working on an old epiphone bass. Ther's a ground wire, which looks to be coming from one of the bridge inserts. But in only sticks into the cavity by an 1/8" or so. Is there a way to replace it without boring a new hole to the bridge? Is the another place to ground the mudbucker?

Cmon, you can solder to it...
Attached to bridge? Can you remove the bridge and run a new wire?

It's not attached to the bridge. I think it's somehow attached to one of the bridge inserts. I can only see the end of the wire that's in the cavity. Even with the bridge off. Be pretty tricky to solder it.

There are two threaded inserts in the body. The bridge is fastened with two bolts which thread into the inserts. So it's bolted to the body, instead or screwd down like a lot of bridges.

Ahh. Got it. Tough spot w/o removing inserts. Gotta splice solder a lump onto it and heat shrink it.

I'll have to try to solder it I guess. It may be easier to drill a new hole and attach a ground to the bridge.

If you can't solder it, even a butt connector would work, you don't have to shrink wrap it, being a ground, I doubt it would touch any of the hot leads, it doesn't need to be wrapped, no one will see it, and it would work as well crimped, butt connectors are more subject to corrosion, but... not in a bass really, ... there is none.

I don't think enough stick out to crimp, he said 1/8" sticking out

Ya don't think I can get a connector on it. But might be worth a shot.
