Gruv Gear Gigblade Edge

Alembics and parametric mid knobs scare me.

Resources on this specific gigbag is scarce. I’m shopping for a gigbag for my Sterling SB14, as the Mono M80 Sleeve I have has too tight a clasp for a 3+1 headstock configuration. It detunes the G string significantly.

It looks like the Gigblade Edge - the cheapest in the Gruv Gear lineup at $120 - is similar in form factor to the Mono Sleeve but looks less sturdy?

Anybody here have any experience with the Edge?

I would have gotten an Edge if it had been out at the time I needed a new gig bag so I got the Sliver (Slim) instead. I'm sure it's the least sturdy, but unless you're flying, sturdy is overrated in a gig bag :D

Hey Jimmy! Does the Sliver have that strap button hole/gap at the bottom? That’s a big deal to me, part of the reason why I don’t fancy the Gator Transit (I owned one) and Pro Go.
Maybe the Edge will have it too… I’m considering the Edge because I can get it new for $95. My second option is the Reunion Blues RBX.

Hey P, sorry I didn't see this thread for a few days. Don't know how it got by me, but here you go...

Sliver has padding you can pull out and move around and keep the strap button from wearing thru the bag wherever it is. The padding is pretty thick so the button doesn't touch the cloth under normal circumstances.

No idea about the Edge, though.

Thanks! That sounds interesting. I ended up getting the Reunion Blues RBX from AMS. I like it a lot more than the Mono Sleeve. My only gripe with the Reunion Blues stuff is that the internal depth is 3”, I wish it was 2”.
