Looking for a little feedback on the design. The orange is curly redwood so I hate to cover it up, but I think the guard is an important design element for this body. Whattaya think??

I'd have to see the actual figuring of the wood to decide. But shape-wise the pickguard seems to make the whole design "flow" better.
Here's the Ebay pic when the seller put some naptha or something on it to show the grain and below is a pic of the actual bare top the way it is right now.
Been thinking about it Gord_oh. Or maybe smoked plexiglass...clear guard?
if you find it to be an important part of a bass but dont want to cover up the wood,
seems like that would be a logical decision.

No offense at all, that's very interesting. I see the difference right away and it's actually pretty surprising. As you can see in the build thread (sig link) I'm pretty far along to make a change like that but it's not entirely too late. That change may be worth the extra work involved.
