they have a 30 day return policy, no questions asked.

they always ask though.

i dunno, this one sure is nice. i may try to sell some stuff in the next 30 to cover her.

i have the exact same bass. natural/ maple/ black blocks. i've owned a lot of jazz's over the years and imo this is the best sounding new jazz bass that fender makes. i'm still blown away every time i pick it up!

mine is so very light (deceivingly so- those ash bodies always LOOK like they weigh a ton!), and so very punchy. delicious!

what kind of strings did you/ are you going to put on?

cool. i haven't been to this board in a while and it was nice to find a 75 ri thread.

i like nickel as well- the ti powerbass strings abolutely rock on this bass.

from your quip i take it you are a fan of beat literature as well? or at least burroughs? good stuff......

nope, i haven't heard of that book to movie adaptation, i'll have to do a little research.

on a side note- i'm been traveling the country for the past 6 months thanks to reading 'on the road' every spring for the past 8 years. i finally tossed what few things i owned (including my 75ri and acoustic guitar) into my little pick-up and hit the open road from ohio. i've settled in santa cruz, ca temporarily, but i'll be heading out at the end of the month. i went to city lights bookstore in san fran last month, had an espresso at vesuvios and a beer at specs. i'm not the biggest beat-head, but it was cool to see where the boys hung out!

i just go to the library and check my e-mail and the bass forums occaisonally. i'm looking forward to going home later this summer and jamming with the old band again! i've got a lot things to see and miles to drive before that, though!

my fave setting:

bridge pickup solo'd....tone completely rolled off...highs that is.

i love the feel of this bass.

Fender sure has come around lately.

oh and Bibby, since yer in Santa Cruz...come on down to LA and visit!!!
