"Guest"?

So sometimes reading through some posts, I will find a user who is a "Guest" under their username.

I know "Banned" means, well, they were banned either temporarily or permanently, but what does Guest mean?

Back to the OP's question ....

I thought a "guest" is simply an unregistered user, regardless of their being a new (not yet registered) or previously registered user.
