I’ve just become the owner of a 1978 Guild B301.
Loving the bass but being the curious type I’m wondering how the end pin/strap button is attached to the body as there’s no visible screw?

I actually don't know how it works specifically because I never had one in hand but Guild used some sort of push in strap button for awhile I think

I had a B-301 fretless for awhile, but never had an issue with the endpin/strap buttons. I did wonder the same thing though when I saw it.

I guess it's a push in? Kinda like an acoustic?

It’s an end pin rather than a screwed-on button, a long tapered pin that’s a wedge fit in the wood. It should be tight and stable, but if you need to remove it it just pulls out (maybe a bit of a twist to loosen it).

I had an S301A-D guitar - same thing. Just make sure you check it regularly. If it gets jammed it too hard, it could end up cracking the body.
