Guild B301-F

Just curious. I picked this bass up a few years ago for about £300. I've seen a few of the fretted models around, but never another fretless. Anyone else out there own/seen one? It's become my favourite bass to record with as no other can match the same deep woody tone. It would be my main bass if it weren't for the serious balance issues (way too much neck dive for me!). As far as I can make out, the control knobs have been changed, and a thumb-rest added, but its otherwise stock.

I had a '76 mahogany B-301F a few years ago. Nice bass, but I preferred the tone of my more modern basses. It did have neckdive issues, but a wide strap helped. I'm not sorry at all that I sold it. There's no way it would cut through the mix in my current band.

There is a Guild B-301F mahogany finished version on Ebay right now that has not sold in months. The seller is asking too much.

I never owned a fretless but just acquired a Guild B-302A blonde-finished bass an am currently in the process of restoring it; very high milage and poorly maintained but not a goner by any means.

Yes, the Guild B300s and B400s have serious neck dive but since I play sitting down all the time, it's not a problem.
