IME great for (home)recording, but I have yet to hear a decent live sound out of any of their products.

...and yet, I've never been happier with my live bass sound in 40 years of gigging and trying most of the 'iconic' brands along the way...

If you or your band members want to take 4x more than you need to a gig more power to ya. It isn't all about the weight. A 4x10 or 12 100w amp likely sounds like crap at a small bar gig. They aren't being driven to the sweet spot and they beam horribly. Most often the audience has the guitar high frequencies being drilled and chainsawed into their head. The guitarist is standing off axis wanking away obliviously. I've seen it many times. Unfortunately that type of rock and roll isn't dead yet.

Maybe the way you do it. A full guitar stack, a full bass stack and a massive double bass drum kit works great for us.

Seems to me that bands that sound like crap and don't care about stage volume and EQ or paying attention to a sound guy can't be doing all that much gigging though.

To think of all the gear-money-backaches I could've saved if I had my Pod back then!

Just this weekend our soundguy (a professional studio guy) told me that I had one of the best live bass sounds he had ever heard.
