Guitar Center does me good. (sarcasm)

When I first started dealing with our Clearwater GC they had a few pushy employees but soon got rid of them and I've had good luck with them since. Bought new and used from them and as I like to dicker over price they tend to be accomodating.Same with Sam Ash in Clearwater,Fl. Good folks in both stores and if there was a problem they fix it.

I think you might have left something out. I'm not getting what the problem was. You got shipped a damaged amp, and they exchanged it. Seems to me they made the offer for you to do the exchange yourself as opposed to going through shipping, which I'm certain they would have done had it been requested. A return authorization isn't a big deal to get if something is damaged.

Yes, they should have sent you a new amp if that's what you ordered, but mistakes sometimes happen. Did I miss something else?

well the problem I see is that he paid for a BRAND NEW amp and got the floor model with no paper work or anything. I had this happen many times, you should not have to drive to return a opened B stock item that you bought as NEW

Nostatic more like just static. I was not hateful to you and my hateful response was in retort.

I was not trying to be hateful just make the point in a different way so that the aggressive could understand. I think you get it but you would rather perpetuate hate and misunderstanding. That is your choice.

If I offended anyone I am sorry. I apologize for any transgression I may have perpetuated on any of you. Please forgive me.

People make mistakes. Not exactly like GC is rolling in dough, either. I thought that was a nice gesture.

It's not a nice gesture, it only looks like one. To be more precise, it's called being fobbed off. Nothing will happen, things will remain business as usual. BTW, my response has nothing to do with GC directly. I just recognize the form of response, having received a very similar one from a fairly large camera manufacturer.

It only seems better than getting an email that says, "You got your item, what more do you want?", which is extremely rude but also largely accurate. No business would do that, they couldn't afford to.

I agree it is barely a gesture. South Austin GC made nice with me and went out of their way to make things right. Great People who work for the evil Empire(GC). So a few days ago I was in Austin and stopped by the South Austin store to pick up a few sets of strings. 3 sets of 9's for a guitar a friend asked me to do a set up on to be exact. A transaction that was less than 15 bucks. Well darned If i did not get a call from Corp to do a satisfaction survey. The poor lady got an ear full and she was nice and made some "special" notes about my prior on line experience. She asked if it was ok if I got a call about prior experience. I said sure I would love to talk about the transaction that GC won't talk to me about.
Wow really a survey on a 15 dollar deal to check up on South Austin store front and staff but no call about the online Crap.:eyebrow:

Whatever. If you're determined to play the victim here, so be it.

Jimmy I have much respect for the support you give via Talk
Bass. Why are you giving me the "Whatever". I have not done a thing to you. GC required me to make a round trip of approx 90miles to make their f up right?! and has never done a darn thing from the corporate side to try and make that right. Do you think it would be ok for me to pickup my new Ampeg at the Chinese factory? You THINK I am "playing" the victim. Go pick fights and be ugly elsewhere. I am not going to lay down for your or you buddies @ GC.

Respect? I said I thought it was a nice gesture, and you said "Nice gesture my a$$." Where the hell is the respect there?

Nothing respectful whatsoever. And thank you for proving my previous post. Ever think of saying to them, "Hey, that's a really long trip for me. How about sending it to my house instead?" Nope, because then it doesn't give you something to complain about.

1st Sorry Jimmy you missed my point even when I used a hammer to drive it home. You do not need to add insult to injury was my point. I apologize.

2nd I guess I forgot to include that going to closest store IS GC POLICY when dealing with their mistake. That is according to GC STAFF.

3rd When you make threats about inflicting bodily harm when you are no where near able to do so is childish.

I do respect you. I am sorry for pissing you off. Please dont come at me again with your anger and intent to do more harm it is so unlike you on this forum. Have you had your morning cup of Joe?

By the way, There is always somebody bigger, tougher, meaner and with less conscience than you. I very well may be that guy. So, pull it out to measure elsewhere.

Scott

I have to say that EVERY item I ever bought from GC locally came out with an open box and no papers, when I would ask for a NEW IN BOX item they would say there is none left...I am serious, EVERY time, even my fender american p bass came off the wall because that was the only one they had!

Jimmy
I guess you are pissed because I bought an Acoustic b450 combo with great sound at about a forth of the cost of Ampeg. Heck, they may even be built in the same Chinese Factory. It would help if you would state your motivation clearly for your "whatever... play victim...". I won't be your victim in any way shape or form.
