Hey, kids. Forty-something dude in the U.S., guitar player since high school. I had a couple of basses and some gear about fifteen years ago, but didn’t get into it that much. Sold it off for more guitar stuff, and still heavily into all that.
Last month I had my first surgery, not a very serious one. Went smoothly, recovering well. Maybe it was the anesthesia, but as soon as my feet touched the streets* again, I started picking up on bass lines in everything and wanting to pound those strings.
A few crisp dollars later, I have a Daphne blue Sterling RAY35HH that I’ve been playing without an amp, a Boss Katana Bass 210 that just came in, with a Charvel Pro-Mod San Dimas PJ V in metallic black on order. That’s a lot of strings, roasted maple, and opportunities for Boss accessory sales.
I have no idea what I’m doing. The other day I learned the bass line from “Echo” off of Joe Satriani’s Surfing with the Alien, and I felt like I was ready to tour. I’m here to learn and talk about playing, music, and gear.
