Guitar players corner!

Update time, with a question below-but no new pictures yet.
I do believe I mentioned this would not happen quickly when I first shared about this.
So, many of my initial plans for parts didn’t translate, so I will leave those for a future project.
So the two main things left are:
-a bridge (floating), the bridge parts I had won’t work.
(I have one on the way, for a good price.)
-machine heads- the parts I have don’t fit, tried a few ways, but I have a lead, due to unconventional size I have a couple of leads I am checking out, hopefully one works.
-neck plate- with a bridge and neck plate I could do a 5 string guitar, but the nonstandard size means I’ll likely need to fill holes and drill new ones. That’s okay.

So Question time:
Anybody have experience with this?
I can use a neck plate with slightly wider screws or keep the same locations and use some sort of ferrules.
I have instruments that do both.
Any advice or tips?
And here’s a memory jog.

This is at Eric's shop in Tiburon. I visited the shop in March '15 where I bought the Yamamoto MS-12 from him.

I met and had a nice talk with Bruce Sexaur there; we had an interesting discussion about multiscale/fanned fret fingerboards.

Update on my guitar project-Attached the machine heads a few days ago, they look great, fitting for the guitar.

Also added a screw on the pickup ring for the neck pickup.

I have most of the other parts, will likely need to shim the neck a bit.
So trying to make time for all that, and a couple of things will depend on the availability a friend

Interesting essay on the Jazzmaster, it pretty much is spot on…

Yeah, in 1975, nobody would be caught dead playing one(or a Jaguar), then within 10 years it was the hippest guitar to have, and Les Pauls looked dated.

a 1960 Jazzmaster was my first guitar... only one until the early 90s

Here I am with it in 85! A classmate was borrowing it for a concert at High School... I was then and still am a bassists first. The strap was adjusted for him, but I was doing the sound check riffing some Judas Priest.

EVERY player I knew (almost) wanted to borrow it, the neck was amazing! Here is just one of my guitarists with it on stage
