Guitar players corner!

I found an old chorus in a trash bin, looks like it is actually broken, so now I want a chorus. Does anybody have any experience with the TC Electronic SCF Gold Chorus/Flanger? Or any alternative in the 50-100 euros price range?
Not the TC Electronic SCF Gold Chorus/Flanger, but I did have the original AC-powered-only model. I really should have kept it is all I can say.

Here is a recording I made with it back in the last century.

Hmmm.... Is that one of the Esprit guitars that Fender introduced to compete with Gibson Les Pauls and ES-335s?
If yes, how do you like it?
What prompted the addition of a locking tremolo/vibrato assembly?

I'm curious because I have an Esprit Ultra "tribute*" model that was made by Eastwood. I had some modifications made to it and it is now the guitar that I usually reach for first.

*Eastwood seems to prefer using the word tribute rather than replica or recreation, given that they are not using the exact same materials and parts, partly to keep the purchase price lower.
It is one of those, but it’s not mine.
Always thought they were cool, so shared the picture.

I got one of these, or the next one up, with just the cab and speaker and all electronics, etc removed, with a double foot switch and a small trapezoid shaped Fender sign for dirt cheap from a store closing down.

I think the 30 is the "next one up" since the original was a 15. Hmmm, I've got a 4-button footswitch that works with both my G-DEC 30 and B-DEC 30.
What's the trapezoidal shaped Fender sign look like? I don't recall that.

I use the cab/speaker with an Orang Micro Dark head. I think I’ve posted pictures

I searched for it, but didn't find much where you mentioned "G-DEC".

Looking at your picture again I think it might be a shell of the 15
Either way, it works well.
I may not have mentioned G-Dec in the amp post, but if I haven’t shared it yet, I will be.
I should take a picture of the sign and post it.

I have a list of what gear I’ve bought on what days, at least instruments, amps, pedals, and a few other things.
Some I don’t know the dates, but most I do- thanks to keeping a list, and/or receipts.
So I realized today, while most days are only in one year, and one item, September 20 has been a busy day for me, over the years, at least for me, compared to other days.
In different years I have bought
Ibanez AF-95 & Fender G-Dec Junior-same year

A few years later a Dunlop GCB80 High Gain Volume Pedal
Then a few years later, a second Dunlop GCB80 High Gain Volume Pedal
And last year, a TC Electronics Subnup Mini Octaver

One volume pedal and the Subnup mini are in my bass pedal board

The other is on my guitar board, seen here when seeing how things fit, and before fastening anything down

There was a sale last weekend at Long & McQuade, I went on the 19th, but didn’t buy anything.
If I had gone on the Saturday and bought something, there’d be something else for the list.
Some things were bought at L&M, some not.
So a mix of guitar and bass, but it’s all good.

In the mailbox yesterday, a set of free beta test strings from D'Addario:

Since the current version of this set were already on my guitar, pretty easy to compare. Put the new ones on last night, will give it a thorough go later this morning. First impressions are very positive, but improving on an already great set is a pretty high bar!

They're making strings out of paper clips now (going by the graphics on the packaging)? :wideyed: :smug:

I don't own an acoustic guitar, but I would start with those (in a heavier gauge) if I wanted to find strings for one.

My favorite electric guitar strings are D'Addario NYXLs in 11-56 gauge. I tune to D Standard on both guitar and bass, so I need heavier gauge strings for both. I tried the NYXLs out when I switched to the NYXLs on bass and I'm glad I switched on both instruments.

I’ve been trying a set of NYXLs in .011-.049 on my Heritage electric, very happy with them so far. For my fretless basses I like pretty light pressurewounds (GHS and/or SIT), they just work the best for my slide schtick.
