One of my band mates blew the monitor speakers.......so he replaced them with 12 inch Peavey Black Widow guitar speakers.............I don't think those speakers will match up with our little box top PA...........I think the ohms and power needed by the guitar speakers will not match up.........or do you think this Franken monitor will work correctly?

Guitar speakers in monitors?

It'll be better than no monitor. What kind of monitor cabinet is it? Frankly, most generic monitor cabinets (e.g. Peavey, Yamaha, Crate, Carvin, Mackie, whatever) really aren't designed very well. They figure out what size they can make it, how to give it three different angles, and whether the price-point supports a real horn and crossover or just a piezo tweeter. And a 12" BW is likely to be a much better speaker than the typical stamped frame Emminence low end speaker most cabinets have in them.
As long as the BW going into the box is the same impedance as the blown speaker, it'll be fine. The only real problem is that now the monitors are less matched than they used to be. So if you're trying to EQ the monitors for maximum gain before feedback the one with the BW might be more efficient at some frequencies than the other monitors. If you're lucky it wont' be a problem. But it's possible that the very frequency where your other monitors are lacking could be the same place the BW is more efficient. So if you're cutting that frequency because the BW is too hot there, it could affect the sound of the other speakers.
But in the real world of a PA that's using a top-box, I wouldn't worry about it at all, and like I said- it's going to be better than no monitor.
